My Weekend

Hello! It's been a weekend of up and down. Being on the tail end of a flare up, my body needs a few days after to recoup. I have received so many positive comments, and encouragements from so many people. I am truly grateful! Support like that is a huge part of the equation of keeping a positive attitude. I plan on taking all the comments I've received, and will absolutely address them very soon. Wanted to give a quick update, and express my gratitude. I hope everyone is having (had) a great weekend! More to come soon! -Jason

  1. Hey Jason! Thanks for starting this!! I hate that we're all sick, but I'm glad to be able to talk to others who know what Crohn's is like. I was diagnosed a month after I graduated college, July 28, 2006. Since January 1, 2007, I've been in the hospital just about every 2 months until this past April. My GI took me off lactose, and it made a HUGE difference. I had 4 perfect months, felt better than I had since before my Junior year of college. Thought I was going to be able to work full time again. Not so much. I relapsed in August. I'm currently on liquids, trying to get things to calm down.

I'm also on Humira! Except my CD is aggressive enough that I take them every week. When I was on Remicade, I had to get monthly infusions because they wouldn't last 8 weeks, until I had a reaction. I also had a lovely staph infection a couple years ago, in my middle finger.

Question: Do you work? And do you have a metaport? We're in the process of talking to my MD about one and getting home health care when I have flares to try and stay out of the hospital.

Looking forward to reading more! Also following you on twitter, I'm AnneShirley06.

  2. Molly,
I started this blog exactly for the reasons you expressed in your comment! I want to reach out to other "Chronies" and share stories..and help each other. NO ONE BUT US knows what it is like....I have so much I want to discuss with you, regarding your comment! We have a lot in common....I am very grateful we have crossed paths..Even if it's because of Crohn's
